I'll fade corpses a bit more so it's more obvious that they're out of commission.

Praise THE MASTER[/u]!"[/i] ------------------------ • Wretch A cautiously approaches the stone at the far end of the hall. The deep marks in it's face flare at the creature's proximity, snaking tendrils of deep-hued energy out towards it. The Rune carved into it appears to be a mark associated with Healing. ((This is a Spellstone, and Using it will brand your Wretch with the spell on it, in this case Healing.))• Startled by Wretch A's arrival, a Ratling scurries out from a dark nook and attacks, though A manages to keep it at bay for the time being with a well-placed boot. • To the West, Wretch E eases open an ancient door, only to have it crack off it's upper hinge and crash noisily to the floor amidst a cloud of dust, making the creature jump and chitter nervously to itself. The room beyond is dominated by a large stone platform, deeply graven with etched symbols. Though the air in the small chamber is heavy with the scent of magics, it appears that the platform lies dormant. ((This is a runeportal, which can teleport Wretches across the Underground, from one portal to another. As this is the only one discovered so far it is sort of useless, but as you discover others you will be able to transport between them.)) • Wretches G and H are hurled into the underground, landing in a heap of tangled limbs and clattering armor. • Backed into a corner, a Ratling suddenly lashes out at Wretch B, but does not inflict any harm before fleeing away. Can the trainer raise Movement as well? Or are they restricted only to Attack and Defense?

Just some quick clarification re: The runestones and some general spell info, since Dani had a question in the chat thread: Runestones can be used unlimited times, and will either brand or overwrite a current brand on a wretch with whatever spell the stone is engraved with. In the case of the Healing stone, that spell is actually already available at the trainer (for 4 coin) but the stone is a way to get it for free. This is also true of the other stones you can find, though most are not located as conveniently as the Healing one is. There are a number of stones engraved with spells that the trainer -does not- know and are therefore not yet available through him, though the trainer may be able to learn how to inscribe them if you bring an example. (basically get your Wretch branded with it and bring it back to the trainer) Not all spells are learnable by the Trainer, for a few the only way to get them is to hike out to the stone and Use it. There are 10+ spells in total at the moment and I've been adding more slowly as I have ideas. Also, in response to Krakatoah's question: Yes, Trainers can train Movement as well, at the same rate as other skills. (To get to Movement 5 costs 5 coin, 6 costs 6, etc. Movement caps out at 10.) I actually suggest putting a few points into movement when you can, otherwise this game will likely take a long time. …also you haven't run into mobs that'll actively chase you yet.. But when you do it'll suck if they're faster than you.

Wretch C gets the drop on one ratling, but is badly bitten by the other before it scurries away. ((I don't normally autopilot for people, but I am for Jazz in this case because he's a righteous dude and I've known him a long ass time. Watching with interest. I would be interested but it looks like you have enough players I've been keeping track of how long it takes me to do a round, it's still pretty comfortable with 8 and I suspect I could probably handle the full 2nd row. So if you feel like joining you certainly can.
