Stefan's narrowed eyes lock in on a smudge of movement in the trees and he opens fire with a snarl, the rifle kicking in his hands and coughing out a thin blotch of smoke.
Marty feels a sharp pang as the bullet finds it's mark, knocking him off balance. He levels his own weapon and takes aim. Stefan cycles and fires again, a wild shot intended more to throw marty's aim. It sails by a few feet away and impacts in a tree with a meaty thunk. Marty fires, the round catching the man on the beach in the chest. Stefan grunts and drops to one hand in the sand, grimacing in pain. Marty turns and moves off to the north.
The distant sound of engines increases in pitch and volume, and is soon accompanied by the faint low thump of turning rotor blades, the tempo increasing as they gain speed.

Claire curses as the old pirate's bullet strikes Marty. " Bloated mother of all that be holy, of all the cockamamy things we needed... Damnation!"
She shoots the wounded pirate once more, aiming for his head, then watches Marty move toward the engine firing up in the distance. She has to stifle a laugh, she's so shocked by his intent.
She turns and runs pellmell back toward the Bethesda and after Dex, calling back at Marty's disappearing back, "You'll never get there 'fore they take to the sky, fool."

Claire aims and fires a hurried snap-shot at Stefan's head, though it misses and instead kicks up a plume of sand a foot to his right. Stefan feels the impact and flinches away, though he's either in no condition to fire back in return, or simply concerned other things at the moment. He rolls onto his back, clutching his chest. Claire turns and makes for Bethesda, post haste. Marty heads towards the sound of the nearby airship, the trees and foliage preventing him from getting a good look at it until he's fairly close. As he draws nearer it reveals itself as a medium-sized craft with heavy streaks of rust overlapping it's matte black paint. Several dents and shell craters pock-mark it's sides, most crudely repaired and repainted over. There is no insignia anywhere to be found, but as it rises on thrumming engines amid a stinging halo of blown sand, Marty catches sight of the name painted across on the stern; Stormchild. The ship wallows in ground-effect for a moment before making a half-turn and heading south along the shoreline, perhaps 20 feet above the water. As it departs, Marty notices it's left a man behind. Standing near the divot where Stormchild had been resting, Rick shields his eyes from the sandblast, shouting something that can't be heard over the ship's engines as it powers south.

((mmmmkay....)) ((Edit: added first post to give it a bit more narrative cohesion...))
((Previously...)) Stirred by the sudden barked command and gunshot, Dexter turns and bolts back in the direction of the ship. He pays no mind to how much noise he makes and doesn't stop running until he reaches the ship. When he gets there, his eyes immediately search the area for the man he previously considered a lunatic (although, at the current moment, seems much more sane than certain members of his former company)...
Dexter arrives at the beach gasping and panting. His eyes search for Tom and finds him near several person-sized mounds. He dashes frantically toward the older man and opens his mouth to speak. Unfortunately, the words don't come. Too many thoughts, too many concepts, too much going on for him to be able to focus any of it into a coherent sentence. When he finally does manage to find his tongue, the best he can get out between his racing brain and his gasping breaths is: "Mutiny!"
Seeing Tom's stunned and bewildered expression, he tries to elaborate. "Hooplehead!" and jabs a finger in the direction of the trees.
((Where, if my timing is right, there should be an airship just rising above the treeline ;D))

"Mutiny!"
Well a crew that was barely a crew and already they had a mutiny on their hands. This wouldn't do at all, and there to cap their day of troubles was the airship headed straight for them.
"Hooplehead!"
Well if they died at least he'd go to the afterlife comforted by the thought of being able to understand a loon. Tom glanced to the ship plodding up with a frown, then shoved Dexter in the direction of the Bestheda.
"Get inside! Tell someone to hop on that gun we've got in the back, iffin they open fire, aim fer that rotor on the bottom!"
Tom dashed off in the direction that Dexter came from, hoping he wouldn't find too many more corpses. He'd had enough digging for one day.

Claire comes into view of Bethesda and Tom, running straight for her. "That damn fool Marty..." she yells shrilly. She gestures at him to turn back, coming to a halt on the sand near the entrance to the deck and looks into the sky, back the direction she was returning from, searching for the pirate's ship just for a second, then as she sees it leering toward them she continues her breakneck pace into the Bethesda.
She stops just inside and continues a bit raspily due to the run "Dunderhead opened fire at two lookouts during a breathtaking lapse in sanity. One of 'em ran for home and t'other is too far gone to crawl far. And then to add to the troubles he already brought on us, he thought it'd be right smart to get hisself shot and try to take that ship you hear comin'." Claire shakes her head, incredulous all over again at the thought. "Told 'im not to shoot. Blast!"
She shakes her head again, this time to clear her thoughts and get back on track. "We got trouble comin' for us and we can worry about Marty later. Gotta look to our girl and our own skins atta moment. Someone at that cannon, I hope? Let's shoot those limey bastards down!"
She steps further into the ship and calls, "Dex, hand me over that rifle. You didn't make it shoot sideways or nothin', right? I've got me a nasty feelin' I'm gonna need it."

Tom does a concise turn about on his heel as soon as he sees Claire come into view with the Captain's hat and running for her life. He'll complain about Marty, or just smear him across the sand, when he's got the time for it. He dashes inside just ahead of her shouting over his shoulder.
"It's jest a tank gun, might be able to get through that crappy armor oh theirs...might not. Oh aye, and we're shorted a couple oh rounds compliments oh the Concordian Navy. I'll get on it though, make the shots count."
He paused for a moment in thought.
"Any chance we could run up the parley flag? Explain we've got an idiot with a gun? Hell we could shoot him fer them as an opener."
Tom smirked at the thought, it was hard to tell if he was being serious or a smartass.

Heloise had just started booby trapping the ship when she heard the shouts over the rain. She hadn't time to complete the first one as all the noise suddenly came in through the hatch. "What in damnation is all the noise?!" Her yell echoed through the Bethesda from the furnace room and she came storming out to hear Claire rattling off recent events.
"We need to send up a parley flag right fucking now! Getting away from the ship might be a good idea too. This place is a death trap if they bring cannons to bare." Rather than wait for permission, Heloise ran to grab a bed sheet and get out of the Bethesda as quickly as possible. "Why doesn't anyone on this ship know when to shoot and when not to?"

"It's jest a tank gun, might be able to get through that crappy armor oh theirs...might not. Oh aye, and we're shorted a couple oh rounds compliments oh the Concordian Navy."
Claire growls. "Damnit, I thought we were better off'n all that."
"Any chance we could run up the parley flag? Explain we've got an idiot with a gun?"
"Yeah, it's a bit of a thought. I don't reckon the lookouts are on deck, they started right quick when Marty shot, so we got that in our favor. I'm guessin' them who's comin' for us won't slow down much in their shootin' but if'n we can't defend ourselves right stout anyhow, might as well give it a go."
"Getting away from the ship might be a good idea too."
Claire nods curtly at Heloise's words. "Yep, we're comin'. You're going for the flag? I'll round up crew and get 'em out. Trees up yonder'll give us a smidge of cover. Careful in case they're overhead. Don't want nobody else here shot today, if I can do any little thing about it."
"Dex? Where's that gun Dex? You get off ship and keep that gun warm for me."
Claire speeds off into the depths of the Bethesda, yellin' at the top of her lungs. "Everybody out. Head for the treeline. Be hasty, now! Cook-man? Ellie? You hearin' me?"

"Everybody out. Head for the treeline. Be hasty, now! Cook-man? Ellie? You hearin' me?"
Kenneth heard the command and the intensity in the voice made him return to the entrance unquestioningly. He grabbed his fire gear on his way past the bunk and kept moving as quickly as his bulk would allow.
Appearing at the door, he made his way onto, then down, the exterior of the Bethesda. He was already panting heavily as he eyed the treeline she had yelled about.
Now that he was outside, his senses tried to gather all the information that the others were already aware of. The remnants of sounds, smells, smoke columns and sandy footprints didn't tell the story, but they set the scene. He accelerated from a quick waddle to a full trot, barreling toward the greenery.

Stormchild rounds the doglegged shoreline fast and low, close enough to the water to blow spray up from the ocean in a massive ring. The pilot, certainly, is not a meek one.
As the Bethesda comes into sight it roughly checks it's advance, banking sharply and skidding a few hundred yards sideways as is bleeds off speed and falls into a hover. A loud voice crackles abruptly through some sort of amplification system.
"-get this thrice-damned thing on, yeh!? Christ aloft it's like a bunch of fappin' mokeys in here... Kenny, get us broadside, yeh? watch fer th' stinger. Aye." The voice is growly and gravelly but most probably female.
Stormchild pirouettes in place, showing her flank. Turrets to the aft and fore swing around with a mechanical whine, and an unsettlingly large gunport in the rear begins to crank open.
"Oi! Ye on the beach! Hello!" Nasty laughter erupts from the speakers."I don't see yer props spinnin'! Y'know, round here if yeh leave yer pants down yer apt ta get screwed, ye ken?"
There is a brief few seconds of noise, like rustling, before the voice comes back again, muffled. "..th' hell. She's already holed up front... Look, there. 'n graves by the side.. seein' graves 'an no uniforms." Another voice makes a comment, too muffled to be made out over the staticky speakers.
The original voice answers. "yeh it's white, an' yeh, like a give a steamy damn... RIGHT! Ye pluggers on th' beach. Step out on th' sand and get yer weapons on th' deck, unless ye know how ta fly a crater, 'cause that's what yer bird's about to become if ye don't do what I ask RIGHT NOW. An.. Ye Know.. Just to show ye I mean business- Oi, who's on the aft cannon? Grant? ..Aye? Jesus.. Right. Grant, put a hot shot up this big bitch's arse, if yeh please. See if you've learned a damn thing. Maybe if yeh get a clean hit I'll-"
The rest of the voice is drowned out by the thunderous report of a cannon.
The Bethesda is savagely jarred by the shell's impact, and Tom is momentarily stunned by the concussion as the shell explodes against the outer bulkhead of the cannon compartment.
The loudspeaker is filled with raucous, braying laughter. "Nice! Nice, well done... Hell with it, hit 'em again! Do it Grant! Hit 'er again fer double rum!"
There is a loud hiss of a refilling pressure canister and then the gun blasts again, the shot this time slamming into and exploding against the hull outside the furnace compartment. Bethesda shudders and shifts slightly in her sandy berth, leaning over a few degrees as though trying to flinch away.
A jubilant, raspy cheer sounds over the speaker. "We have a winner! HA HA! ...Now, you lot on the beach... YE SHOT MY GODDAMN CREW. Not that Rackman was any great shakes but they're MINE ta kill, not YOURS! So here's what happens... Whichever of you is Captain, I'm gonna set the 'child down next ta yer bird, and we're gonna have a talk. If I see yer bird's rotors move, I'll light yer ship up. If I see that cannon barrel so much as twitch like a priest's cock in a whorehouse, I'll light yer ship up. Have all yer crew out next ta ye once we land, and none of 'em better have a weapon, or you'll be the first ta die."
The amplified sound cuts off with a violent screech of feedback. A moment later the pitch of the Stormchild's engines lowers slightly as she hovers over to the beach and slowly begins to drop down to the sand.
==================================== ((One thing, Del, as I was looking at Marty's sheet today it looked like you'd added some marks skill, and indicated it on the sheet.. when you want to buy stats you need to indicate in in the thread so I notice it, since I don't check the actual sheets that often. Being in a compartment under fire was nothing new for Tom, granted that didn't make the experience any less unpleasant. He'd flung himself against the opposite wall the moment there was a call for cannon fire, crouching low and smashing his hands against his ears while the aft side of the ship rang sour notes of injury, threatening to rattle his teeth from his head.
The world spun for a few moments, lost seconds as the body made up it's mind between consciousness and blissful darkness, fortunately Tom's body knew this drill. After the second shelling he waited, listening to the commands of the other ship's Captain. He loathed to leave the gun at a moment like this, but their attacker was right, their pants were down.
He hoisted his lucky rucksack to his shoulder, stumbling to the door. Bracing himself there for a few moments to give his legs time to catch up with the rest of him, and also to eye the ship landing in the sand next to him. He made a grand show of dropping his bag next to the Bethesda, smirking and waving at the crew on the Stormchild as he joined his companions out on the beach.
"Someone find Marty and kick him in the nadgers fer me."

Captain sounds reasonable enough for a pirate, Claire thinks. Course, she's all but a pirate herself now, so she might give the occupation a nudge more respect than she's used. Anyhow, the man will listen, if she can avoid soundin' rich 'n snitty, an' she's been workin' at scrubbin' that whole privileged upbringin' right out o' her system. Claire turns to the others within hearin' and says, "Lay down yer weapons and come on out behind me. I'm gonna go try runnin' my mouth."
She sees Tom emerge, and gives him a small wink as he makes his way over to the rest of the group.
She steps out onto the sand as confident like as if she were just goin' for a pleasure stroll, holdin' up her bag in show and then putting it down, and tuckin' her gun inside. She peers up at the ship declarin' itself as Stormchild, and gives her hat a tug, then walks further out onto the sandy beach, and makin' sure she's out in front.
"Arrite,we're comin' out and we're layin' em down."

((My apologies, I should have announced I spent 20CP for 4 Musketry. Not that it will matter much, it wouldn't have helped my rolls yesterday and I think I'm about to be killed here either by my enemies or my enemies' enemies.))
Marty grimaced in pain as he hurried to the north. The wound throbbed, the bullet still biting into his bone. A problem to be dealt with later. Right now they were in trouble.
He arrived in time to see the Stormchild rise up and fly south, toward the Bethesda. The Stormchild looked to be in much better condition, and equipped with superior weaponry. Trouble.
Marty peered through the trees at the clearing where the airship had been parked. Rick still stood there, shouting something incomprehensible.
"Why would they leave him behind?" Marty wondered. Had he been abandoned intentionally? Or simply forgotten?
Marty resolved to watch him closely, staying hidden while getting as close as possible, waiting for an opportunity.
((Stay hidden, get as close to Rick as I can. Also looking around for anything useful that could help me knock an airship out of the sky)) ((Edit: I guess I should specify that I'm still holding my gun in my hand, ready to fire if fired upon))

"Marty started this bullshit?! Where is he?! Has that horse's ass left us to deal with this?!" Heloise continued to hold up the make-shift surrender flag and a string of muttered curses and obscenities flows from her revealing to anyone close the anger and frustration she's feeling.
As Claire makes her way toward parlay, Heloise wonders how smooth a talker she is because she knows shooting definitely won't be the way out this time. "Arrite,we're comin' out and we're layin' em down."
"Aw, damn it to the hells..." She tosses her pistol to the ground, runs to catch up with Claire and walks two steps behind her once she does. While still holding up the sheet with her outstretched arms, she tells Claire what's on her mind. "They're not gonna believe you're in command of a crew of prisoners without some jackass disobeying you. You're wearing a Concordia hat for pete's sake."
((Edit: It's time for Heloise's bluntly honest nature to show itself ;D))

When Claire winked at Tom, his head tilted slightly, studying her for a moment in question. Did the Captain suddenly have a plan? Ah well, time to play it by ear, time to pray that bold made for a better Captain.
Heloise's comment made Tom's smirk grow a little.
"Well we've no shortage oh jackasses runnin around. As fer that hat, don't worry about it, they'll tell right away she ain't Navy, we can spot a Naval dog a mile away."
He turns his eyes back on Claire "Ye spit and swagger enough though and ye might pass fer a decent pirate. Personally I think we should stick with the truth, we're escaped prisoners, ain't nothin in that but opportunity fer a good raider."
He looks back to the Stormchild crossing his arms as he waits for it's Captain to show herself.
"Whether or not she's a good raider...well we're about to find out."

Stormchild sets down in the sand about 30 yards distant with a surprising amount of grace for her dilapidated exterior. The forward airjets and aft rotor spin down, though it's obvious from the copious nose inside that the furnace and pressure tank are still in full operation. A few moments later a cargo hatch on the lowest deck opens and a figure emerges, dressed in a long, heavy dark-gray coat that stretches down to her knees. At her side hangs a well-worn sword, and an almost comically large rifle dangles off her back from a leather strap. Between the high collar of the coat and hat that's pulled down low over her brow, it's difficult to make out much of her face, but it's easy enough to see one eye is covered by a black patch. She pauses for a moment before walking boldly for the assembled group, scabbard jangling off her hip. She is followed out of the hatch by five additonal crew, armed with swords and guns, though none are being brandished in an overtly threatening manner. She stops a good twelve feet from the Bethesda's cohort an makes a show of looking over each with her one good eye, screened behind a few locks of sandy-blonde hair. The word 'shipbreaker' is scrawled across her eyepatch in light grey, along with a number of hatch marks. "'Ey there." She says, in the same scratchy voice heard moments earlier over the loudspeaker. " 'm sure yeh can count, 'n ye can see I've got five with me.. 'case yeh think ye like those odds.. Well.." She hikes a thumb over her shoulder at Stormchild. 'Got three more behind those cannons." She half turns and shouts back. "Wave hi ta these folks, Marcus!!" In response the forward turret traverses a few degrees left and right, pantomiming a wave, before settling back squarely on the assembled group. "Good boy." Stormchild's Captain chuckles and grins, a lopsided affair that looked as much like she was trying to unstick a piece of meat from between her teeth as it did a gesture of affability. "Now then, I gotta say... Today's somethin' like a lucky day fer me.. Yeh all came wingin' in here on that bird, I though maybe yeh were Concords ta try'n chase me off. But, as it turns out..." She takes a significant look around, tossing the hair away form her good eye with a flick of her head. "Maybe not. 'any case, I'm in a fair good mood at th' moment, so I'm gonna momentarily overlook th' fact ye left one 'a my crew bleedin' like a pig on th' sand back there. But what I want to know is... Who the hell are yeh, why'r yeh here, and how did yeh come by that pile 'a bolts yonder?" She fixes Claire squarely with her one eye. "Yeh seem ta have th' nicest hat, why don't ye answer fer everyone?" - Meanwhile, a good ways further up the beach, Marty creeps out of the jungle and across the sand towards Rick, as the youth stared fixedly at the spot where Stormchild disappeared out of sigh, clearly lost in thought or indecision. As Rick turns to begin walking south, he catches a glimpse of Marty about a dozen feet away and jumps back with a cry of surprise.

"Get inside! Tell someone to hop on that gun we've got in the back, iffin they open fire, aim fer that rotor on the bottom!"
Dexter starts heading up the stairs into the ship in the direction of the cannon...
"Dex, hand me over that rifle. You didn't make it shoot sideways or nothin', right? I've got me a nasty feelin' I'm gonna need it."
Dexter spins on the spot and heads back towards Claire outside...
"Dex? Where's that gun Dex? You get off ship and keep that gun warm for me."
Dexter starts heading back down the stairs to the beach again...
"Have all yer crew out next ta ye once we land, and none of 'em better have a weapon, or you'll be the first ta die." "Arrite,we're comin' out and we're layin' em down."
Dexter tosses the rifle near Tom's rucksack as if it were diseased. After a moment's thought, he adds his leather bag to the pile as well, for good measure. He stands with the others biting his nails and fidgeting, his eyes nervously jerking towards the trees from which the Stormchild came.

((Checked CP and maths were correct, with 20pts to spend))
Claire meets the other Captain's unpatched eye and inclines her head in greeting. "Yep, it's a purty color, ain't it? Just picked it up recently, matter'a'fact. Ol' man of the boat didn't have no need of it after he bled out. Him and his men are those you see under the sand yonder. Some love-crazed gal attacked the ship, see, to rescue her honey." Claire rolls her eyes. "They rubbed out most of 'em you see over there in the sand, though I will claim two of 'em as our own kills. The adonis was in lock-up same as us and as he was leavin' he told her to unlock the other cells. Them we were in. So we took the ship and brought 'er down on your beach here, lookin' to refuel." Claire shrugs. "That's our tale."
She eyes Stormchild's shape, openly admiring it's loyal shadow to her Captain, then looks back at the woman in front of her. She taps her own chest and then gestures at her companions. "Name's Claire. This 'ere's my whole crew, all but one." She glances toward the vegetation, in the direction that she last saw Marty.
"While I'm givin' ye an earful anyhow, I'll go 'head and tell ye bout the last 'un. Marty, that witless ass, he shot your man, the older 'un, 'gainst my say so. I told him Don't and he went right on and pulled the rotten trigger. Damn oaf!" Claire tightens her fingers into a fist and makes a very unpleasant face. "I've a mind to shoot that fool my own self if I see his face again..."

"Huh.." Stormchild's Captain purses her lips. "Yeh know in me head I had ye lot boardin' ta wrestle with this bird's crew yerselves, maybe lost yer own ship 'n th' process 'n had ta lay low 'n quiet here fer a while." She sniffs. "Kinda like my version better."
She strides to within a few feet of Claire, and in the shortened distance it becomes clear she's tall enough to look down on the other woman.
"Still, I dont' think yer lyin', and I do think ye got.. -somethin- at least, to have made it this far, if yer tale's true. Futher, I think we may be able ta help each other, one fancy hat to 'nother." She grins and pokes a finger through the bullethole that pierces her own headpiece from right to left.
"Name's Emillianna. 'S a mouthful, so I go by Captain. Ship's th' Stormchild. If yer bird's got an empty belly like ye say, I can ye help with that fer a price. But I might be able ta offer ye somethin' better if we work together fer a while."
She rubs at her nose, flicking her eyes over Bethesda and tilting her head slightly to try and see into her cargo room.
"Personally, I'd strongly consider takin' the 'workin' together' offer, since ta be honest it don't look like ye got much that interests me, and seein' yer ship as a crater still has a certain hold on my mind, truth be told."

There were certain things about Emelliana that caught Tom's fancy, she was rough, rowdy, and in charge, you could get to like such a woman quick. Of course, she was threatening to blow them up, Tom wasn't sure how he felt about that. He did know if they didn't push back a little, the good captain would take complete advantage of them. As she tilted her head to get a look at their cargo hold Tom stepped over to block her view.
"Don't think I've ever been press-ganged in so many kind words."

Emillianna's eye shifts minutely in Tom's direction.
"Ye see this finger, boy?" She holds the pointer of her left hand up in front of her chest. "If I raise this finger in the air, and point it at yer ship, My girl Stormy'll hole yer bitch right through the furnace and you'll be stuck here with yer thumb up yer arse till th' end a days. Fact is, there's aught but two slim reasons I don't. One. Ye lot're a mild curio. 'an two. Ye -might- be a help. 'an both of those near take a backseat to my keen desire to see somethin' burn fer me an' mine bein' messed with. So. Let me do ye some damned charity an' pretend I'm giving you a choice, yeh?"
She sneers.
" 'Sides, we ain't got to a deal yet. Don't kick over th' pot 'fore ye know what's in it. ...Furthermore, I dont' see a Captain's hat on your head, so I'm baffled as ta why yer talkin' at all."

Claire looks up at Emillianna, eyes narrowed slightly in thought for a moment. Before she answers, Tom pipes up.
"Don't think I've ever been press-ganged in so many kind words." Upon hearing this, Claire spins about to give Tom a threatening glare. Though Bethesda's new crew hasn't seen much of her wearin' the newly acquired Captain's hat, nor her ability to wear it, Claire knows full well she can't afford to look weak in their current predicament. Not that she blames Tom for trying to dress down the woman's intents but she's got to show she's full willin' to put 'im back in his place. After all, that's the main reason she mentioned shootin' Marty. Well, that and if he was hidin' nearby and could hear what was said, talkin' bout shootin' him might warn him not to come out while they're negotiatin', since he'd like as not be shot on sight by their visitors. Not that a part o her wouldn't feel mighty good about seein' Marty bit more bullet-riddled after he opened this whole can o worms, but he's on her crew and well, she figures he could learn to behave hisself better, given a chance and some choice words.
" 'Sides, we ain't got to a deal yet. Don't kick over th' pot 'fore ye know what's in it. ...Furthermore, I dont' see a Captain's hat on your head, so I'm baffled as ta why yer talkin' at all."
When Emillianna finishes, Claire adds a word or two of her own.
"If ye'd like to know just how fine the nitroglycerin hemorrhaging out of that pet grenade of yourn may taste, slidin' down the back of yer throat and into yer innards, keep talkin'."
With that out of the way, she turns back to answer Stormchild's Captain.
"Strikes me as a fortuitous opportunity, it's an arrangement. And, I don't see as I'd mind if ye do blow the Bethesda here, long as ye hold off till we find somethin' a bit handsomer to take 'er place."
Claire eyes the ship hovering over the beach again and looks back at Emillianna, with a shine in her eye. "Now, pardon my curiosity's gettin' the better of me, Emillianna, and I'd be all for gettin' acquainted over a rousin' game o cards in the next hours, but you got a particular stint in mind we can aid ye and yer crew with?"

Dexter fidgets with his belt, kicks the sand at his feet, shifts his weight, glances at the trees in the direction of that hooplehead again, looks to his sister and, thoroughly bored by talking he doesn't have enough interest to listen to, starts reciting memorized passages. Anyone near him might hear him muttering in a sort of song: ...1 4 1 5 9 2 6 5 3 5 8 9 7 9 3 2 3 8 4 6 2 6 4 3 3 8 3 2 7 9 5 0 2 8 8 4 1 9 7 1 6 9 3 9 9 3 7 5 1 0 5 8 2 0 9 7 4 9 4 4 5 9 2 3 0 7 8 1 6 4 0 6 2 8 6 2 0 8 9 9 8 6 2 8 0 3 4 8 2 5 3 4 2 1 1 7 0 6 7 9 8 2 1 4 8 0 8 6 5 1 3 2 8 2 3 0 6 6 4 7 0 9 3..."
While he's doing this, he stares interestedly at the Stormchild, then at her Captain, memorizing the shapes and contours and details of each.
((Spot check on Stormchild and Emilianna))

"Now, pardon my curiosity's gettin' the better of me, Emillianna, and I'd be all for gettin' acquainted over a rousin' game o cards in the next hours, but you got a particular stint in mind we can aid ye and yer crew with?"
Emillianna's mouth creases into a smile, this one a bit more like the genuine article.
"Yeh, so happens I do." She tugs in her hat a moment, thinking. "Hells I'll just tell ye. I know ye'll just ask questions till it comes out anyway... Ye ever hear of the Six?" She tilts her head to exapine Claire's face. "Nah.. Expect not. Half of folk thing they're myths anyway... Well, th' Six are ships, and they're real. Came outta nowhere some thirty years ago. Nothing like 'em before, an' nothing quite like 'em since. ..Actually there may be more'n six fer all anyone knows, but six of 'em fer sure. Appolyon, Baal, Hecate, Loki, Lucifer 'n Mephisto." She recites the names easily, clearly deeply ingrained in her memory.
"Like I said, nobody knows who built 'em, or why.. But thirty-odd year ago, Captains around the world started gettin' messages, with coordinates.. Them that flew out ta see what was there found one of th' Six waitin' fer 'em, primed 'n ready to fly. 'n fly they did, according ta whatever whim 'a th' Captain that found one. Many just turned into raiders or pirates, but a few made history, or were part 'a it in their own small way. Fer their time, those ships were th' best in the world."
Emillianna pauses in her story to lock eyes with Dexter, midway through looking her over. She blinks. (Or winks, it's hard to tell) "Yeh like what ye see, boy? Here..." She pulls her shoulders back and inhales, stretching the fabric of her heavy coat against her ample bosom. "Go on, look yer fill. 'Cause the next time I catch yeh lookin' I break yer nose." She grins toothily as her crew snickers, then drops back to her normal posture, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"...Not like I don't know I'm topheavy... ..Where the hell was- Ah, yeh.. Of th' original six, there's only three left... Baal got torn ta shit by th' Concordiat Navy, Loki apparently got the same from a whole mess of State ships after being chased fer weeks... Never found a wreck, though. Mephisto was surrendered ta Victoriana after her captain died... She's called the HMS Shadow now.. So yeh she's still around, technically, but... ye know.. Not in free hands, so it hardly matters. Hecate and Apollyon, nobody's seen in five years.. Or if someone has seen, they ain't told."
Emillianna pauses, cocking her head at Claire as her grin widens on her face.
"Ye see where I'm goin' with this? I know where Lucifer is. I know she's waitin' fer a new Captain. All that seperates her from me is four feet of steel and a couple hundred tons 'a rock, and I'll dig if I have ta get to 'er. But there's a better way... Instead'a diggin, we can just take the front entrance. There's a circuit-key that unlocks the door. I got half of it. The other half belongs to a crotchety son of a bitch lives on th' other side of the island. He knows me 'an mine, and he'll never give it ta us... But ye.. ye lot might have a chance of grabbin' th' key or at least findin' out where it's kept. Maybe not a great chance but it's better'n what I got, and if it saves us mine some hard work then I'm willing ta give it a try. So if. If, if, IF ye get me that key, I'll see to it yer rewarded in a manner that's generous. ..If not.. Well, ye can have from us what ye can pay fer, yeh?"
She draws back a pace, squinting at Claire critically. "But don't be gettin' any extravagant ideas of yer worth, now. Like I said, I'm content ta dig if I have ta."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ((Sorry for lateness, but Windows took a shit so I had to reinstall it and a bunch of drivers and basically get my world back in order. Luckily I didn't have to reformat, or I would have been very sad.Though if what killed my system was a virus it'll probably kill it again...Anyway, I'll do Character upkeep when I have a chance. Resuming on monday!))
((Dexter's observations: Stormchild is dirty on the outside but seems well kept overall. Her three guns look to be two turreted 16 pounders and one Stationary 20 pounder. Her armor looks to be decently thick in most places, with some noteable thin spots. The cargo hold near the bottom of the ship looks to be of lighter construction than the rest of the ship. Her power to weight ratio *from what dexter estimates her engine power to be based on engine configuration and what noises she's making- seems to indicate she'd be pretty swift, maybe 30% faster then Bethesda or more.
Emillianna is a big girl, muscular and bordering on plump but not quite there. She tends to keep her head cocked slightly in order to improve her monocular field of view. She tends to say what she's thinking, literally -Her mouth sometimes moves when she's in thought, though usually not enough to make out words. Despite her relaxed demeanor she is very alert, her eye tends to flick towards any sound or movement. The rifle she carries is used for hunting elephants.. Up close. Low capacity but massive slugs and high muzzle velocity.

(( Yeah I know we pick up Monday but I wanted to go ahead and get this up there, in case I'm really busy Monday morning)) Tom had to try real hard not to grin. The insult was second rate, they could work on that, but Claire had caught on fast, this might go smoothly after all. He forced a frown on his face, nodding curtly to her. " Aye aye Captain." damn it felt good to say that. He really began to pay attention when Emeilliana mentioned the Hell Begat Six. Wasn't a sailor out there that hadn't heard about them, who's fingers didn't begin to itch just a little when they heard the rumors about what those ships were capable of. The word on the Morrigan had been that Dirk was going to go after one of those ships himself, attempt to pummel the Concordian Navy into leaving them be. Of course he wasn't around any more to do anything about it...but that didn't change the fact that they were still out there. Tom wasn't above getting a good eyeful when Emeilliana presented, and giving a low whistle beneath his teeth when she inhaled. Fun and games were over though when she mentioned that there was a half of a key to one of the Six on the Island though. Tom studied her and her crew anew. " What stopped ye from makin a crater oh the man and takin it fer yerself?"
