Mistwalkers are a curious form of elemental embodiment wherein a water spirit comes to reside in a humanoid body. Unlike pure elementals, Mistwalkers have a corporeal, mortal form, possessing emotions and a lifespan as normal humans do, though in general mistwalkers live far longer than your average person.
Mistwalkers are usually extremely tall of stature (6' -7' on average) and posess thin, graceful bodies. They are blue of skin, and their skin is usually slightly damp to the touch and remarkably smooth. They have luminous, pupil-less eyes which are generally a shade of blue or white.
The origin of these creatures is unknown, and many Mistwalkers themselves are unsure of their own pasts, their own early histories remain a mystery to them, lost in the fogs of memory. There are many theories however, one of the more popular of which is the belief that they are the symbiotic joining of a human and a water elemental in one form. While this remains a theoretical possibility, no concrete evedence has ever been found.
Mistwalkers are most commonly found in the region of Ildemar and seem to originate from somewhere in the unexplored territories, though some have ventured into other areas as well.
Mistwalkers seem to be drawn to fresh water of all kinds, and have an innate ability to sense water in their surrounding, even through dirt or rock. They weaken and sicken rapidly in dry climates, or in fact anywhere fresh water is not available. They similarly fare very poorly around contaminated water and indeed have trouble even with salt water. Generally they can not tolerate long sea voyages without special preparations.
Mistwalkers are commonly said to be able to breathe underwater, but more correctly they do not need to breathe at all, except to speak.

IN GAME
Mistwalkers will always have Water Magic as a specialization (for obvious reasons), and seem to be fond of creating Familiars out of water to do their bidding.
