===================================================================== BULKHEAD You know, shields are great and very sparkly and all that, but at times what one really needs for piece of mind is a few feet of hardened ferrozirconite armor slabs sandwiched between some tastefully arranged strips of polycarb laminate. Which is to say you want a Bulkhead. The very low weight of modern armor components makes the performance hit of a nice thick bulkhead almost negligible, while the strength of the material is enough to stop low-powered weapons fire from vaporizing more of your precious internal compartments than are strictly necessary. Unfortunately, there are only a few portions of a ship that are suitable to be reinforced with bulkheads, so ships need to be semi-carefully planned to ensure you have protection available to the right areas. -Effects-• Bulkheads are 'empty' compartments that do not do anything except absorb enemy fire if they are in the line of it by getting blown up. • Bulkheads >>DO NOT COUNT<< as Compartments when figuring Movement or ship Size, or final score at the end of a round. ---------------------- -Build rules-• Bulkheads may only be placed in a "L" shaped opening formed by compartments, and may not intersect an output. • Bulkheads must be placed symmetrically.
