A bastion of magical teaching in Barrican, one of many established by the Silver Circle all over Ailia. If you need Rotes or training, this is where to seek either. Basic lessons are available free of charge, and simple Rotes at minimal cost. The Silver Circle promotes the peaceful and beneficial use of magic, outside of some forms of self defense. Teaching and use of the so called 'Red rotes' is expressly forbidden by the Archive.'

They are also able to increase the potency of magic-bearing weapons and armor, including even ones from antiquity, though this requires careful research and preparation.

Along with hundreds of other products and inventions they design and sell tools and consumables useful for adventuring, and offer the facilities and expertise required for aspiring mechanists to upgrade their own tools and devices.

On the whole though, they are extremely reclusive.

An industrialized smithy funded by the city government that produces weapons and armor for Barrican's guards and soldiers. It takes private commissions as well to keep the forges lit. Normal-quality arms and armor can be purchased by anyone, but more specialized equipment requires authorization.

Helhunters are a world-wide order whose purpose is to track down and destroy Hellions that have breached into Ailia, focusing their efforts on defending the many towns and villages in lands unprotected by Solcrystals. They maintain a finely-balanced neutrality and are one of the few groups who can travel freely between the Wildlands and the West Empire. They are generally happy to train and equip anyone who seeks to join their cause, but with their reputation constantly at stake, they only lend their full support to individuals who have earned their trust. A helhunter may never take side in any dispute, and must always avoid shedding humanoid blood whenever possible. Those who break this code, vital to the order, are dealt with harshly.

A group of former outriders who ended a serious threat to Barrican and the wildlands over a decade ago. Once celebrated heroes, the have eased into retirement as the years began to creep up on them. A defining feature of each is their arms are black from the shoulder down, as the result of having to reach onto a bubbling alchemical broth to retrieve a magical artifact as part of their last battle against the rogue alchemist Raedos Khaas.
Brunell Midson A taciturn warrior overwhelmed by sadness as the death of his wife Casselia during the climactic battle.
Resides in the Three Candles Inn and almost never leaves.
