Welp the Geist aren't cooperating, guess I gotta help out. A, keep the civilians moving, head south, and lob a grenade into the group to the south while B rangefinds for you.VA, turn around as best as you can and get ready for evacuation.D, store RPG ammo and launcher in the ATV when you get there.e: Map for convenience

Hmm, not quite as many kills as I was hoping. Still manageable though. I hate to burn through my MMG ammo so fast, but it's still more efficient to area fire at 4 than to shoot at individuals.
VB, area fire centered at the square 3 south and 1 east of O and R's current position
N move 3 west and fire at west-most geist
O and R move 2 north. O fire at north-most geist, R fire at west-most geist.
I actually intended for both ATV soldiers to get out and start walking, so please have M dismount and have P continue south. Also, are there any sentural oldiers nearby to ask about potential supply caches they might have had laying around?

I actually intended for both ATV soldiers to get out and start walking, so please have M dismount and have P continue south. Yeah, that happens because M used his action to Drive, and therefore didn't have one left over to dismount (and couldn't move either, since he needs to dismount first...) P could have dismounted and moved, but I just made a judgement call to have her dismount and then stay put and wait for M. Since it won't really effect anything, I can offset P's position as though she moved last turn if you want.

Ahh, ok - didn't realize that driving counted as an action even though it makes sense looking at it now. Just have the two stick together, if that sets P back a turn that's fine.

That having been said, yeah, hold position and shoot whatever is closest, slight preference for stuff to the west, area fire.

CORINA ----------------------------------------------------------------- The pedestrian canal crossing is slender, an elegant suspension bridge built of wires and tubing, it seems out of place amidst the brutalist lines of the burning city. It bounces very slightly under Corina's footfalls as she runs, and she steals a glance down at the water through between the railings. Easily a 20-foot drop, sheer concrete walls on the sides, slicked at the waterline by brown algae. No access ladders. She wonders how long it will really stop the Geist. Not long, she decides. But maybe long enough to matter. Moys and McDonald enter the bridge from the far side. Moys waves. Merrill looks grey, and like she is somewhere else. A few yards from the end of the bridge, their ATV sits waiting, puffing exhaust in the rain. "She's all yours!" Moys gestures. Corina halts near him, puffing, glad for the break. She's in good shape, but still freeze-sick, and running is a chore with all this gear. She flattens herself against the rail to make way as a duo of civilians rush by. "You know the plan?" Moys asks. She nods. "I got it. It's going to take a while to rig these up correctly." "We'll buy you the time." VICTOR BRAVO ----------------------------------------------------------------- "HA HA! Fuck yeah! Fuck yeah!" Malcolm shouts jubilantly as the last of the Geist collapses into a bloody heap on the asphalt. One of it's clawed limbs till flexes, scratching against the pavement, as though trying to crawl towards it's prey. Malcolm flips his rifle to single and fires three rounds into the corpse, grinning. "Pop pop pop! Take that, bitch!" "Clear." croaks Violet. "It's clear." "Save your ammo, Dent." Kurt says, "These're dead and there's plenty more." Mal slings the rifle across his shoulder and smirks. "Whatever man, don't get your tampon all in a wad." He shakes his head, loving the angry grimace that takes over Kurt's features. He waits for the smaller man to say something, but Morgan's scowl just hardens over, and he turns away. VICTOR CHARLIE / ALPHA ----------------------------------------------------------------- Bats can't believe how good it feels to fire her weapon. As the MMG's jackhammers against her arm and the front grill of the truck where she has it deployed, it feels as though some of the ice around her insides is breaking up. She can breathe again, move again. The fear is still there, christ is it ever. But it is no longer slowing her. "Hit 'em, guys! Fuck 'em up!" she growls into the squad radio, sweeping the muzzle of her weapon from target to target. Vic Charlie's gun opens up in tandem, filling the artificial valley between buidlings with the echoing reports of their weapons. The range is long, and not a lot of the hits are lethal, but the Geist in the street stagger and are gradually cut apart. A trio however slips out of her field of fire, making way to the north in pursuit of fleeing civilians. "Shit!" She presses a finger on her throat mic. "Ant, some got by, keep your head up!" "Roger," answers a static-choked voice in her earpiece. She's never heard the radios sound so bad. Movement on the inside of the Buffalo gains her attention and she looks up into Tobias white-terrified face as he shouts at her through the glass and points South towards the entrance of the detention center. A living wave is emerging from the Det center, a wall of limbs and grey, dry flesh. The inside is packed with them. "Oh," she says. "Shit." --------------------------------------------------------------- ((Abyssal, I held off on the grenade shot because you have to shoot during your turn and the best target wasn't quiiiite in range. Hope that's okay.)) [Pedestrian bridges have 30 structure and 10 armor.] CACHE A[ARC Rifle(x4)] [ARC Ammo(x4)] CACHE B [Demo charges(x1)]

Yeah I want to hold off on heavy weapons fire until there's a good shot, and it looks like there's one now.
B, rangefind for A while you head back to the ATV. A, gib those Geist. (Moving while rangefinding seems like it should incur a bigger penalty than moving while firing, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Hold off on on the movement if it'd cause a penalty, there's lots of civilians nearby.)
D, stow your RPG launcher and get in the ATV. Get ready to pick up those demo charges.
Not sure what I should be doing with my transport, it's awkward parked in the middle of the street with nobody in it, maybe head back to the warehouse and finish packing up Cache A? The Blob from the Detention Center is a concern too, Viking Helmet or mydad, either of you want to park a gunner inside?

I am going to spend one more turn here before heading northwest.
J,G,H, focus fire the closet Geist, regular shots. L should area fire down the big clump south (move if necessary to get a shot). The turret should area fire it, too.
Also, scream at the civvies to run up the alley, and not stop running northeast until they cross a bridge.

(Moving while rangefinding seems like it should incur a bigger penalty than moving while firing, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Yeah, I will probably slap a 'can't use if you moved' restriction on it, like the MMG. Not now, but probably for next mission.

M and P continue south.
O, R, N reassemble by the north end of the transport, using it for cover. Have O reload but hold off on R for now. Have N stick the auto injector in the transport so that they can grab ammo next turn.

Looks like it's going to be time to pull back soon - those mobbers seem overwhelming and smashing the new group on my side would most likely take all of my remaining MMG ammo. My tentative plan is to have my ARC troopers take pot shots to not waste reloads and take an area shot if there's a particularly dense group to shoot at. When the geist get close, pulling back to Hal Muller Ave. seems prudent to get my other troopers in on the fight.
M and P continue south. N continue to move towards O/R and grab an ammo reload from the transport. O and R hang out for a turn.

A back to the ATV. B head south but hold your fire unless there's a target within 6 squares. D take the ATV to Cache B.
VA, park where the old transport just pulled out.
Want to start grenading those hordes, but it'll be a while before I have to decide which one to focus on. My Dad, while you're pulling back could you make sure to take out that straggler Mongrel that's harassing the civilians?
Viking Helmet, I could bring VA down to you so you could have a fully loaded MMG if you'd like. I'm not sure when we'll be able to replenish our supplies though, so it might be more efficient to pull back and use our ARCs as much as possible.

Pack everyone up in the transport, and have the turret take a single shot at that one geist that's nearby. Move west and turn north just before the civvie car. Uh... Yell obscenities at the other lone geist and hope it heads our way instead of killing someone?
I'm pretty sure that there's nothing we can do to save the civilian group far to the east other than destroying a section of the wall up north and hoping for the best.

Actually, slight change of plans since My Dad isn't attacking the lone Geist to the west. B should head south and keep a bead on the thing in case it gets close. A will pick follow her on the ATV.

-------------------------------------------------------------------- VICTOR CHARLIE Bats sticks her head far enough around the truck to see the Mobbers pouring out of the building. They are very many, and very close. "Okay we're moving! Pack it up! Pack it up!" Bats shouts, not bothering with the crackling, spitting radio. "Let's go, let's go!" She slips up the arms of her bipod and hoists the weapon onto her shoulder, careful to avoid the barrel shroud, which is hot enough to singe. The ammo box feels light and the last few dozen linked rounds jangle around on the inside. "May, give us some cover while we load in." The vehicle MMG hammers out a few rounds as she heaves her gun and then herself into the Buffalo. "Where to?" Tobias looks like all the blood's been drained out of him. "Forward and right." She points. "We'll figure out the rest as we go." [Pedestrian bridges have 30 structure and 10 armor.] CACHE A[ARC Rifle(x4)] [ARC Ammo(x4)] CACHE B [Demo charges(x1)]

Pedal to the metal, try to run down the geist to the west in a way that ends up with the vehicle facing north and preferable not crashing into the building or squashing the poor civilian. :v If we can't quite reach it with the vehicle, fire off a shot at it.
The group at the bridge should probably tell the drivers to use both lanes of the bridge - it's not like anyone is going the other way. I'd rather avoid having to deal with a traffic jam.

I'm gonna use the ATV to lob grenades at the densest targets and pull back to leave the stragglers to be picked off with more accurate weapons.
B stand still and take a shot at that lone Geist. SA go south of B so she can hop in next turn.
SB head to Cache B and pick up those Demo Charges.

I think we'll need to abandon both the SW and the SE soon. We can make a breach in the wall to the east to let the last batch of eastern refugees go there, and hold the line for a bit, but ultimately, this is a losing battle and we need to conserve resources.

Agreed, that's why I'm only committing two soldiers and an ATV to it. Strike at the most vulnerable clusters of enemies to soften them up, then retreat on the highly mobile ATV when there's either no good targets OR egress is coming close to threatened. I'm not planning on a valiant last stand here, that's what the canal is for.

Oh yea, sorry - I was travelling for thanksgiving until yesterday and didn't realize another round had gone through.
Have N hop in the driver's seat. R and O fire at the 2 nearest geiss. Q hang out. M and P continue south.
Also, is it obvious how the civilian by the gate died? There's no geiss anywhere near it...
