----- [ CHARACTER CREATION ] -----
+ Choose starting Attributes ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Put 1 point into an Attribute: [ATTACK] [DEFENSE] [VITALITY] [MECHANICAL] [MAGIC] for each level your character has.
(Unless otherwise stated, your character will begin at level 1)
+ Choose Talents -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Choose Talents with a rank total up to the Level your character is.
[TALENT LIST]
+ Starting Gear and Items ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starting gear cannot be traded, sold, or upgraded. It may have Enhancements applied to it.
Once they have have been created characters will receive $20 to buy additional equipment and supplies with before they start their first adventure.
They will also begin with (00 Favor / 30 Reputation) with The Boroughs, and automatically start with basic Accommodations there.
+ Backstory
Optionally, you can add a short backstory (a few sentences or paragraphs) that explains your character's history or current circumstances, or what their goals are. This helps the GM know the general direction you have in mind for the character, and may make it easier for the GM to work your character into some kinds of events. You can find background information on the setting [HERE] to help with this.
+ Choose (or make) a Character Portrait
Find or make an image that you feel is a good representation of your character.
This will be displayed on the character's Downtime sheet, and as unit markers on combat maps.
Character portraits can have maximum dimensions of 200x300 px, and will be resized and/or cropped to fit inside these dimensions.
A separate 32x32 unit icon will be made (of your character's face) to be the unit's placeholder on combat maps. The GM will handle this.
Heroforge is a nice resource for generating colored character models with a lot of variety. ( www.heroforge.com/ )
(You can take a screen grab once you have something you like.)
+ Finish ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Post your Character creation choices in the SA thread, and the GM will make a character sheet for you.
+ Choose a Name --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just nothing blatantly offensive, please. GM has veto rights.+ Choose starting Attributes ------------------------------------------------------------------------

+ A QUICK NOTE ABOUT DEF/ARMOR TANKS:
High defense/armor tank characters are viable, but due to how the mob damage capping works, a low-level character interested in being an armor tank should consider putting their first few points into VIT rather than DEF, as additional HP will provide more benefit than Armor until the mob damage cap goes up. (At around level 5 or so.) I recommend aiming for around 20-25 max HP (thru VIT and Gear) before starting to allocate DEF. I generally avoid giving unasked-for advice but this is an easy trap to fall into, and has resulted in dead tank-aspirants in my playtesting. Armor tanks should be fine to play, they just have this hiccup at low levels.

[ CHARACTER REPLACEMENT ]
If your character dies or you want to retire them, instead of starting over with a brand new character, you can make a new character 2 levels lower than the previous one.
You can choose 2 factions your old character had reputation or favor with and copy those favor/rep levels to the new character.
Half of the original character's gold will be available to the new character when they start instead of starting gold. (Unless staring gold would be higher)
