(( for the sake of not having a generic text-only representation of scooter, we'll just say he looks sort of like this. )) this is probably a particularly good angle because Matt Doran doesn't particularly look like Scooter in my head.

((Ehh.. it's sort of free form.. It'll go till something happens that forces everyone to stop. Officially, though, the 'round' ends sometime this evening, probably around 8pm pacific or however long it takes everyone to get a post in on average. ))

((Firstly, Grave, this game is AWESOME! I am having so much fun! Secondly, I hadn't exactly intended to steal from my "companions".. I had assumed that there would be other people to take from but hey, I think it fits my character great now that I think about it. He's been a pickpocket and a thief for most of his life, and he's already getting in the habit in the first round of play EDIT: And the cool part is, they might assume that the guards simply took the cash? Or maybe they had already seen it. Hmm.. Thirdly, I hope my latest combat actions weren't too complicated. I didn't want to be too lengthy on the OOC there so I posted the rest here. Can't wait to see what happens!))

((Huh? ..So far Marty hasn't really stolen anything yet that I'm aware of, just taken some loot off the guards.. What are you referring to? And your combat stuff looks fine. I'm gonna wait for some more peeps to respond before I start making rolls. Glad you're enjoying yourself, tho. ))

Yeah, I'm finding it difficult to determine what character is in which post since the login names and pics are completely different from the character.

Yeah, I'm finding it difficult to determine what character is in which post since the login names and pics are completely different from the character. That is a good point. Would there be an easy way to put a pic and a link to our character sheet at the top of each game post? That would be cool.

((That's not a bad idea... Actually in a lot of Forum RP's players will post a link to their character descriptions in the initial post... So as long as you keep your character writeup in the Bin Current, you could just link to that. If you want to include a pic too, that'd be cool, just find somewhere to host it I guess. >.>))

what about a pic (optional) and a link to your character post in your sig? and photobucket is free and provides both thumbnails and bbcode that you can copy/paste here to embed the actual image. like so:

if there's a lot of kludge in your Character Bin thread.. Once you've been approved I can go back in and delete all of it if you want, leaving just the inital post.

((Scooter's latest actions have me wondering: How high up do these airships fly? Is the atmosphere still breathable for the average human being, or does it require an air tank or something?
And do we need handholds and anchors to not fall off or is there some sort of artificial gravity thingy? Just wondering))

(( I don't believe there is an anti-gravity effect on any of the airships, cause half the fun of these things is the chance you might fall off. However there are a number of devices in the accessories section that are designed to either aid you in staying on your ship, or to assist you in getting around it. ))

Airships usually fly at an altitude between 500 - 10,000 feet and are not pressurized. So if they went much higher it would require breathing apparatus of some nature. (Something they could certainly have, but I'm going to say it's not a common occurance since they don't have much call to fly higher than that anyway, and lower air density makes it harder to gain altitude etc, etc, etc.)
So the practical limit is 10k feet, and it's perfectly fine to walk around on the outside of the ship. most ships have outside Decks (indicated as green floors on the ship's diagram, you just can't see Bethesda's yet.) for walking around on. If the airship happens to be in motion there is a roll of: [D100 + Agility] Vs. [Airship Speed] To avoid some sort of mishap. If you fail badly enough you can fall off, yeah.
No anti-gravity, but there are different kinds of engine types depending on the Rating of the engine. Bethesda's engines (2500 Rating) are basically steam turbines driving rotors, making it sort of a helicopter. 3000+ Engines sometimes use ducted air jets a'la the harrier jet. 4000+ engines are usually souped-up versions of the the types previously discusses, and 5000 Ratings are rumored (you don't see them all that often) to use some sort of gyro-magnetic propulsion which isn't entirely understood, not even by the people who design or build them. These would be the closest to any sort of antigravity, I guess, but they aren't common at all. (These differences are really cosmetic, however, in practice all engines behave the same.)
